QUE TAN LEJOS

When a workers' strike stops their bus, easygoing Esperanza - whose name means “hope” - and self-possessed Maria Teresa - who calls herself “Tristeza” (sadness) - hitchhike through rural Ecuador in this allegorical road movie. As they meet a variety of unusual characters, the two women form an unexpected bond.
